Memorial Day
We all take this day as a day for picnics, having a day off work paid, sleeping late, spending time with our families but then I thought what is the real meaning of Memorial Day and what does it stand for because I guess I knew, but after researching on the Internet this is what I found:
Go to this link and it will tell you almost anything you can imagine about what the true meaning of this holiday is.
It's not about getting a day off or spending time with our families for a picnic, and although those things are great. What we need to really remember is it's a day to remember those who have fallen fighting for what most of us take for granted everyday...OUR FREEDOM...... I am not here to preach, but those who have died deserve a few minutes of my time to remind you who read my blog what the true meaning is and to make sure you say "Thank You" to those service men and women who have fought for our freedoms and especially think of those who have lost their lives for selflessly doing that for themselves, their families and for all of us.
I like to think I understand it a little more than most, and I do use the word little, as Nico's Daddy was in the Marine Corps for 4 years and even though he never fought in a war or even came close to losing his life. I also know that in a second if he was asked too, he would put that uniform back on and pick up a rifle and fight without even blinking because I know he believes in defending his country and defending your freedoms and mine.
So this Memorial Day, take a moment to thank a Serviceman or woman you may know or come into contact with because without them, we would not be where we are today. And know all those who died fighting for our country, they did so with the utmost Honor and Bravery, not even I could truly understand but know that here I am saying to my husband, our friends who served with him, family members and all of you who may be reading:
Thank You from the bottom of my families heart, we appreciate what you do everyday without asking for anything in return.
And most of all.......
Thank You Uncle Kenny for continuing your Service, we appreciate what you are doing more than words can say. And to Aunt Adriane and the girls, thank you for supporting and going through the hardships of being an Army family. We love you guys!!!
Happy Memorial Day everyone!!!!
Until next time.........
Kel
